Simple Reverse Proxy Configuration for Mac OS X Apache HTTP Server

To create a simple reverse proxy for your user on Mac OS X, go to /etc/apache2/users and find your user’s configuration file.

Append to the end of the file, outside of all elements.

ProxyPass /service/ http://localhost:port/service/
ProxyPassReverse /service/ http://localhost:port/service/

Restart apache for the settings to take effect
$ sudo apachectl restart

This will create a reverse proxy for accessing http://localhost:port/service/
